Toronto apartments for rent - Bathurst and Wilson

This is a popular area with family renters of Toronto apartments. The plethora of shopping, schools, transportation and entertainment options make for a high demand area. In fact, Bathurst and Wilson represents the northwestern border of Bedford Park, an area one prominent Toronto area publication recently named the number one neighbourhood in Uptown Toronto.

Bathurst and Wilson is famous across Canada for having the best bagels in the country (sorry Montreal). The two best bagel bakeries in the area (and the world) are Gryfe's Bagels and Bagel World (Although the last few years have seen some new contenders). Debates as to who has the better bagel can get pretty lively. A hot lightly done twister from Bagel World is probably as good a bakery product as you'll find anywhere. The same can be said for a poppy seed offering from Gryfe's. There are also several other bagel bakeries in the area that provide pretty good bagels, but Gryfe's and Bagel World are in a class by themselves.

Bathurst and Wilson is also well represented by coffee shops. From Wilson in the North to Lawrence in the south, the area has a Starbucks, Timothy's and Second Cup, not to mention the Open Window Bakery (try one of their famous cheese or blueberry buns) one of the best bakeries in Toronto. No wonder apartments rent fast in this area!

Shopping opportunities for Toronto apartments in the Bathurst and Wilson area include Lawrence Plaza (located at the North West corner or Bathurst and Lawrence) which has banks, a 24 hour Dominion Grocery Store, Winners, Shoppers Drug Mart and Town Shoes to name but a few, as well as specialty retailers like Camp Town, which has everything you or your kids will ever need for camp or a camping trip. There's also an enormous no frills at the North East corner of Bathurst and Wilson which is very popular. You'll also find coin laundries, dry cleaners, flower stores, variety stores housed in the many storefronts in this vibrant part of Toronto. Moreover, almost all of the buildings in this area feature laundry rooms (as do many buildings of apartments) and parking.

Transportation is well served with buses running up and down Bathurst Street from Bloor to Steeles 7 days/week. The Wilson and York Mills subway stations are also only a short bus ride away. Being in the Toronto uptown core, the area is very convenient for driving with easy proximity from apartment rentals to the 401 as well as points north, south, east and west.

In terms of R&R nearby Yorkdale Shopping Centre (Canada's first indoor shopping mall and certainly one of the largest parking lots you'll find in the 416 area code) supplies a top tier cinema, while Avenue Road to the west provides some of the top restaurants, video stores and desert shops in the city. If you really want to get out of the city but don't want to spend hours on the road, just go to Earl Bales Park (just north of Wilson with an entrance off Bathurst). This popular park provides one of the most beautiful settings in the city. The "Bales" can accommodate alpine skiing (there's a chairlift), nordic skiing, nature walks, and bird watching. Its also a beautiful setting for a picnic. Toronto's apartments at Bathurst and Wilson provides everything you need in an apartment rental!
